Incendio 2 / Fire 2

Freddy llegó a su casa y le contó a su mamá que se había peleado con Sofía, la hermana de Gerardo, el líder de la pandilla del barrio. Doña Rosa  le dijo que pensara muy bien lo que había hecho y que mejor hiciera las paces con ella, salvo que a su juicio fuese inaceptable o imposible. Freddy lo pensó bien y regresó a platicar con Sofía. El problema es que se encontró con Gerardo quien le dijo: "¡Oye tarado, por qué hiciste llorar a mi hermana; eso te va a costar caro!" Entonces, Gerardo le hizo una seña a los amigos con los que venía y ataron a Freddy a un poste de luz para luego empezar a golpearlo hasta dejarlo inconsciente y lo hubieran matado si no hubiese sido porque Sofía llegó a salvarlo.

Una ambulancia llegó por Freddy y se lo llevó al hospital. Una semana después, él regresó a su casa. No bien había llegado cuando los cristales de su casa estallaron en cientos de astillas por las pedradas que fueron lanzadas desde la calle. Luego, botellas incendiarias volaron hacia el interior de la modesta vivienda y la incendiaron. Ni Freddy ni su madre pudieron escapar de las llamas porque las puerta de la casa había sido bloqueada por fuera. Sus gritos alertaron a los vecinos aunque demasiado tarde, cuando terminaron de apagar las llamas, ambos habían fallecido por asfixia. Gerardo había hecho de las suyas nuevamente: Él ya había estado preso por incendiar otras casas.

Freddy came home and told his mom he had had a fight with Sofía, Gerardo's sister, the leader of the gang in their barrio. Doña Rosa told his son to think twice what he had done and that it was better to go back and try to win his girlfriend back unless he thought that was not aceptable or possible. Freddy gave it a second thought and he went back to his girlfriend's house. Unfortunately, he bumped into Gerardo, a block from Sofía's house. Gerardo told Freddy: "Come over here stupid! Why on Earth did you make my sister cry? Then, Gerardo told his buddies to tie Freddy to a nearby light pole where they beat Freddy unconscious. They would have killed him if Sofia had not arrived in time to prevent the murder.

An ambulance took Freddy to the hospital. A week later, he came back home. Yet, not a minute had gone by when all the windows of his house were shattered to pieces by hundreds of stones that were thrown from the street, then, bottles with gasolina swished into the house and started a fire inside the small house. Freddy and his mother could not escape from the fire because the door of the house was blocked from outside.  Some neighbors heard Freddy and his mom screaming, so they tried to put away the fire, but by the time they did it , both victims were death due to asphyxia. Gerardo had done it again: He had already served time for burning other houses.
